Decorating a Coffee Table…..Designer Style

Accessorizing your coffee table gives another opportunity to showcase your style and personality.  You can showcase collections, your favorite books or magazines and provide a place to rest your feet after a long day at work.  There are five design components that you can incorporate to ensure a successful coffee table design.  They are the following:

1.  a decorative tray

2.  a decorative box

3. an architectural accent

4.  a small potted plant or floral arrangement

5.  a stack of your favorite books

These design components can work in any design style and can be changed out with each season.  Here are three examples.

 

In this first look, I have incorporated a silver tray with a decorative glass box along with a potted iris.  The seashell serves as my architectural accent piece.  I picked up this seashell while on vacation in Orlando, Florida.  The stack of books are a few of my favorite design books.

In this last design, my driftwood accent piece was the inspiration for a coastal design look.  I placed the driftwood, a mother-of-pearl decorative ball and a decorative accent box inside of a casual rattan tray.   Next,  placed on-top of a stack of my favorite design books is a looking glass from one of my collections.
