Fall Decorating and Entertaining Series: Outdoor Fall Decorating

I will be hosting two events at my home this Fall season:  a Fall Harvest event and my mother’s 60th birthday….sshh, don’t tell her I revealed her age…LOL!  I have been in the process of  browsing on Pinterest and the internet for some great fall decorating ideas for the outside of my home, particularly for my backyard deck area.  I have already purchased a couple of items for the deck area which I will be revealing later this week in a new webepisode.  However, I did find lots of decorating inspirations that will take my fall outdoor decorations over the top.

I love EVERYTHING about this front entrance of this home.   The placement of the decorations are perfect for dressing up the stairs leading all the way to the front door.  The entire vignette is low maintenance other than the need for watering the mums.  I have steps leading up to my front door, so this is going to be an easy way for me to recreate this look for my front entrance.

I actually have two decks with sitting areas in my backyard.   I am going to be concentrating more on decorating the main deck off my family room, but not neglecting  the décor for the secondary deck.  This centerpiece will look great on top of a small table that I have on the secondary deck.  So while my guests are lounging on the secondary deck, they can still enjoy and experience the feeling of fall.

Monogramming is still a popular trend and one that will probably never go out of style.  A  person can almost have anything monogrammed from linens, to clothes, to jewelry and now for pumpkins.   However, in this picture from Pinterest, it looks as if this initial “B” was either hand-painted or stenciled.  Either way, it is a great look, one that I am going to re-create and not to mention that the “B” is the initial of last my name…LOL!   Just an quick FYI, if you are not creative with stenciling or free-style painting, Hobby Lobby has a great collection of peel and stick initials that you can use to monogram your pumpkins.
