It’s here!!!!……June Dallas Market time! Market time is what I love the most about being a designer. Attending the market is like a shopping event on steroids….LOL! A person can easily get a visual overload with all the beautiful showrooms, beautiful people and great things to buy. People beautiful???…Yes, market time is the best time to see the latest in fashion. I think the women enjoy dressing up more than shopping for their clients….LOL! At least I get a kick out of dressing up for this event. Well enough said about all the aesthetics, let me give you what you came for……pictures!….LOL!!
COLOR is huge this season and it was everywhere at market. Color in the accessories, furnishings, walls and even floors. There was not a showroom that did not have at least one item in color. This showroom was quite fun to look around. I love all the bright and colorful decorative accessories perfect for using outdoors as well as indoors.
There is just something about the color blue that has me hooked this season. I think it is because of its calming and soothing qualities. I know the Pantone color of the year is Emerald Green, but to my surprise, I did not see much of that color at the market….hmmm. maybe someone got it wrong….LOL!
Decorative accessories are Haute….”hot” this season. The bigger they are the better! Graphic designs are all the rage especially the chevron pattern. I wonder if Chevron Petroleum Company is getting a kickback on all the items that are bearing its pattern….hmmmm, inquiring minds want to know….LOL! As you can see in this showroom, they have mixed together almost every pattern on earth, yet everything looks great and pulled together….the perks of working with a designer.
Pillows, pillows, everywhere. These are not your run-of-the-mill pillows. These pillows are hand-crafted with the best fabric and trimmings. Matter-of-fact, the trimmings are top-notched leather, suede and hide-skin fabric with the hefty price to boot. Notice here that color is big even in the “soft furnishings”…my attempt at using designer industry language.

White dishes or some variations of white are hot this season too. Although I am not surprised at not seeing color in the dishware. I guess maybe it is because chefs or cooking connoisseurs want their food to take center stage and not the dishware. I am so inspired by the classical look of white dishware, that I have incorporated an all-white dishware theme in my home.
And lastly, a person would be crazy not to do a little shopping for themselves. While shopping in this clothing showroom, I fell in love with this simple yet creative way to display your wall sconces….with a decorative frame…. how whimsical is that! This is so simple to do and an inexpensive way to bring some character to some boring wall sconces.
